As Educators grows, so do its offerings and partnerships. The newest member of the Educators Investments fund managing team is Beutel, Goodman. In particular, Bruce Corneil, who brings over 30 years experience managing fixed income portfolios to the table. Bruce’s credentials are exemplary: as Managing Director he leads the award winning Fixed Income Team at BG, responsible for overall strategy, portfolio duration, risk exposure and portfolio positioning. He is also the Chairman of the BG Management Committee and sits on the Board of Directors. You can appreciate why BG and Bruce were selected to manage the Educators Bond Fund.
“The most important aspect to dig for in bond investing is a company management’s ability to increased shareholder value over long periods by generating free cash flow”, Bruce advises. BG’s bottom up investment style reflects exactly that, leading to investments in strong companies with less cyclical performance and more value upside, satisfying both fixed income mandates and equity mandates, respectively.
