Board of directors

Educators Financial Group Board of Directors continues its commitment to meet the best practices of corporate governance:

• The Board is comprised of highly qualified individuals with many years of experience in the financial services industry
• Board members have expertise from outside the education community, and as a result, bring a variety of experiences to strengthen the board
• Five directors have earned accreditation as directors: Four have the Chartered Director (C. Dir) designation from the Directors College and one has the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors
• In accordance with best practice, the Board has revised its governance model and improved the committee structure

The Board of Directors holds regular committee and board meetings throughout the year in order to perform their duties and meet their responsibilities.

Educators Financial Group’s senior management and the Educators Financial Group Board have placed corporate governance at the top of their priority list. We believe that adhering to ‘best practices’ in the area of corporate governance will insure that client and shareholder interests are both protected and enhanced.

Ownership

Educators Financial Group Inc. (Educators Financial Group) is a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO).
There are up-to-date Corporate By-laws in place, which, along with a unanimous shareholder agreement, govern the activities of the Board and the Officers of Educators Financial Group.
